The Iowa Brewers Guild is pleased to announce the details of the Sixth Annual Iowa Craft Brew Festival, which will be held on Saturday, June 18, from 1-5 p.m. in the 200 block of East 3rd Street in downtown Des Moines.
Over 45 Iowa breweries, along with a host of regional and national craft breweries, will be featured at this year’s festival, which is one of the flagship events of Des Moines Beer Week (June 17-25). Participating breweries will be pouring unlimited beer tastes of approximately 300 beers, including a variety of limited release brews.
In addition to an array of outstanding beers, the ICBF will feature food from Ceviche Bar, Iowa Taproom, Formaro Stuffed, Melts without Borders, Over the Top, and Forefathers Bacon; educational seminars; street shenanigans from Josh Peters' Dangerous Fun Show; Human Foosball; and, for goodness sakes--we'll even have an app for you to download soon (stay tuned)!
A limited number of VIP pass holders get exclusive early access into the festival to beat the crowds from 1-2 p.m., as well as a special tasting glass. General admission ticket holders can enter the festival grounds at 2 p.m. Designated driver tickets are available for $5.
This event will sell out—no day-of tickets will be available.

The Festival of Iowa Beers is the state's longest running beer festival held each year on the Sunday before Labor Day at Millstream Brewing Company in Amana. Debuting in 2005 with 300 attendees sampling beers from eight Iowa breweries, today, FoIB attendance is capped at 1,200 while featuring over 30 Iowa breweries.
The fest runs from 1-5 pm on Sunday, Sept. 4. Admission includes a souvenir glass and unlimited beer samples. Food will be available on site, and music will be provided by Airwave.
Tickets ($25 in advance and $30 day-of) are available at Millstream's tasting room or online here.
This event is for 21+ only and all tickets are non-refundable.
A daylong education and outreach conference for IBG members as well as the general public, i-BEST (Iowa Brewers Education Seminar and Tippling) is packed with useful brewing and beer business information. The 2016 conference will be hosted by Peace Tree Brewing Company in Knoxville, Iowa on Nov. 5.
I-BEST has something for everyone. For those already in the craft brewing industry, content addresses issues on technical brewing as well as business and marketing. Homebrewers looking to improve their skills will find helpful information, and those planning a brewery or looking to transition into the industry will also benefit. Breakout sessions allow attendees to chose between seminars on the business/marketing side of the industry or technical brewing.
The Brewers Association's Quality Ambassador Dick Cantwell will deliver the closing keynote address: "The Future of Craft Depends on Quality." Additional topics confirmed for this year include next level social media, Human Resources, microscope skills, a panel discussion on packaging, and more.
In addition to a full day of beer and brewing education, i-BEST includes morning refreshments, lunch, networking with IBG Allied trade members & sponsors, and tippling.
